Abstract

Rubber is one crop that accounts for foreign exchange. Ribbed Smoked Sheet rubber types (RSS) commonly is an excellent product of large state-owned plantation company, which in the last ten years has decreased the amount of exports. The main production processes in the rubber type of RSS is the addition of ammonia as an anticoagulant and formic acid as a coagulant. The amount of added ammonia is generally based on information from the garden and also the experience of workers, without do the analysis of ammonia concentration that based on existing work methods. Less precise information about the magnitude of the amount of ammonia added from the garden is one factor decreasing the quality of the products RSS, which caused less optimal provision of formic acid. In this research, analyzed the use of formic acid in the plant given by the optimal use of formic acid which is supposed to be based on the results of the analysis of the concentration of ammonia using the titration method. The accuracy of the use of formic acid will increase the quality of rubber sheet product
