THE INFLUENCE PARTICLE SIZE RICE HUSKS ASH AND ANTIOXIDANT TO VULCANIZATION CHARACTERISTIC OF COMPOUND GRIP HANDLE MOTOR VEHICLE

Abstract


The objectives of this research were to study the effect of particle size fillers of rice husk ash and antioxidants from rice husk to the grip handle motor vehicle compound vulcanization characteristics. The research was designed as factorial Completely Randomized Design, and each combination of the treatment was repeated three times. The first factor was the rice husk ash particle size (100 mesh, 200 mesh, 300 mesh and 400 mesh) and the second factor of the antioxidant phenol concentration (0.5 phr, 1 phr and 1.5 phr). The parameters were scorch time, optimum vulcanization time and torsion modulus. The results showed that all the treatments and their interactions have a significant influence on the vulcanization characteristics of compound grip handle. The best treatment is a combination handle grip compound treatment A3F3 (rice husk ash size of 300 mesh size and 1.5 phr of antioxidant phenols), the vulcanization characteristics scorch time by 1,34 minutes, the optimum vulcanization time of 1.01 minutes and torsion modulus 10,37 kg.cm.
